Go Go Go

I have been a busy girl. I think that's why right now I feel like I got kicked in the head by a horse. headache.
First thing I have been doing: WORKING. duhhhhhhhh
This is Face it!
It is a salon and cosmetic boutique. And I work here now. So far I love it. I already feel like I have learned a lot but there is also a whole ton of things I need to learn. And I already know I am going to spend my whole first paycheck on the makeup we sell because it's great.

Next, I went out with Brock in search of Bawls. It's not as inappropriate as it sounds. Remember when I told you that I used to hate energy drinks? Look, I really did tell you. Well this is the first energy drink that I had and liked. Then I just went nuts and started drinking all kinds of energy drinks everyday while I was in California. Everyday. My roommates could vouch for that.

Then Genii (Lenny), one of my best friends came to visit from Corvallis. We played some Catch Phrase against the boys and the final score was- Girls: 3 Boys: 0 suckers. Then we went to Voodoo Donuts, where there are tons of crazy donuts like the maple bar with bacon and many of them are quite inappropriate. It was great. Not to mention delicious. They also have some great merchandise, my personal favorite being the bumper sticker that says "I got VD in Eugene." Classic.

We then took these donuts to Dough Co. where we got ourselves some calzones. Calzones, people! I just want to take this time to point out that Brock and I attempted to go to Dough Co. the last three days and succeeded twice. We are practically regulars now. There were some college students there who were on some unknown substances which made for great people watching.

 Isn't my boyfriend so cute??

Plus, I just like Genii so it was fun to have her here.

THEN what, did you think it was over?
Today I went to the Nike Employee Store because Brock's parents gave us passes for Christmas.
And I bought a lot of good stuff.
Brock went nuts too and between the two of us we got a nice load of stuff. Unfortunately I didn't spot any celebrities or athletes. Just an Asian with a tiger calf tattoo.

We were all practically ravenous after driving to Portland and shopping for two hours, so we headed over to the Thirsty Lion. Which Brock kept calling the Hungry Hippo. I'm still not sure if it was on purpose. And we had some delicious meals.

It has been a great last few days nah, week. And now, I am laying in bed, blogging. I don't think I could be more content! I have my first long day at work tomorrow so I am looking forward to a great night sleep.
What are you looking forward to?

When you're the prettiest

Tonight was a great night.
Today was a great day.
It really was.
I have talked about it already a few times so I will spare you the agony of hearing about it again, but I got a job. At a place I really love. I couldn't be happier.
I start my first official shift tomorrow. But don't worry my friends, I will still be blogging my little heart out.
I then spent the rest of the day with my boyfriend and some of his friends.
We literally spent the night driving around in my car yelling at groups of people walking to parties on campus.
The best use of time ever.
You know when you just feel like smiling and laughing?
That has been me in a nutshell. Which is a place I would never want to literally be.
Here are a few things I found that I wanted to share with you
just because they are great. and awesome. and happy.

Isn't it true?
"You're the prettiest when you're happy."
I think the best thing a girl can do to be even more beautiful is smile.
and laugh.
It's good for you, you know.
I have so many great things in my life right now, and I really just feel so lucky.
What makes you happy?

I have scaled these city walls, only to be with you

 My Best Friend's Wedding
Have you seen it?
It is one of my favorite movies. Ever.
I don't even know why I love it so much, honestly.
It just has everything I could ever want in a RomCom

Julia Roberts is amazing. Inspirational. GREAT.

And Cameron Diaz doesn't mess around.

Problem is: I don't have it anymore.
One time, long ago, I had it in VHS. Is this the stone age? I have long since lost that copy, and now I want the DVD.
Is that too much to ask for? I don't ask for much.
I have searched every store in both Oregon and California.
I really thought I was going to find it the last time I went to Best Buy. It's Best Buy! Don't they have everything?
But, it wasn't there!
I feel like I have left no stone unturned and I still have nothing to show for my work.
I just ran down the isles of Best Buy singing at the top of my lungs:

Not really, but the thought crossed my mind.

There is no stopping me

I'm coming to the realization that I have zero self control.
0% zilch. zip. none.
You know how I know that?
Exhibit A: I buy stuff all the time. Okay, not stuff, but clothes. It is like I don't already have a bursting closet full of things. Which I do. And yet, I still convince myself I need things. Yes, I actually justify it in my own mind. It is not until much later that I realize I didn't actually need it. But by then I am already looking at the next thing I can't wait to have. Brock is in for a hand-full once we get married. A HAND-FULL.
Exhibit B: Today Brock and I went to Roaring Rapids Pizza Company. Not only did I work there for a good two years of my life, but I also happen to love the pizza. Maybe a little too much. The place is near and dear to my heart. So consequently, we go there all the time. Which brings me to today, where I knew I was full. FULL. Like, my belly can't contain any more food. But I had one. piece. left. Guess what I did..... I ate it up, that's what I did. Now I have been uncomfortably full for quite some time.

Here is Brock, with a jumbo hot-sauce and a Mountain Dew the size of his upper body. He also might be a serial killer. Don't tell him I said that.

Here I am with a slightly smaller hot-sauce and a JUMBO Mountain Dew. It looks like a dunk tank.

What do I have to do to muster up some self control?

"I am, indeed, a king, because I know how to rule myself."
-Pietro Aretino
Well, Pietro, it seems like you knew what you were talking about back in 1537. Unfortunately, it is 2011 and this quote is nice, but I still want a new purse.

Homerun

IIIIII Olivia Juliann Crabtree just came back from an interview.
The interview that I spoke of before.
This is the outfit of a girl who is going to go rock an interview:

And this is the face of a girl who is confident in her ability to knock that interview out of the park
at least that's what I told myself

And here is a cute boy who gave this confident girl a pep-talk to make her even more confident.

So, in case you didn't pick it up, I had an interview today.
At Face It!
What is Face It! you ask? And why is there an exclamation point in the name?
Well, my friends, that is because they are great, so they can.
You can check out the website here.
Seriously, you should. Trust me. Have I ever led you astray?
Go ahead, make yourself an appointment, girl.
Goodness knows all us Oregonians could use a spray tan or two.
I love everyone who works there, and I'm not just saying that because both the owners read my blog cough cough Jodi and Paula cough cough
I actually mean it.
And you know what?
I'm going to go watch the Office now.
And celebrate.... I don't know. Celebrate something.
Celebrate that today is a nice day.
And whether or not I get the job, I'm a happy girl.
But you can still wish me luck ;)

He Who Must Not Be Named

This is my new baby.
He is so cute. I think he is definitely a male.
I am smitten to say the least.
Something about the smell of a new car just gets me excited.
Yesterday Brock, my dad and I went to a car dealership and traded in my Mazda for this beauty tear
I will 100% miss my old car! His name was Kolby and he treated me well.
But, the time came to move on to a new relationship.
Kolby wasn't fulfilling all my needs.
Don't worry, there was no overlap in this relationship. I broke it off with Kolby before moving on.
Here is where I need your help.
What do I name my new Jeep?
Right now, I'm pretty sure I'm naming him Lord Voldemort
haha
I can't help myself.
Any other ideas?

After the million hours we spent at the car dealership, we decided to make ourselves some cookies.
some delicious cookies.
To celebrate our victory
They are no-bakes which are sooo easy
We love making them.
But our secret is putting in extra peanut butter, but makes all the difference! Shhhhh :)

I am going out to dinner with my grandparents and brother tonight and I can't wait!
Then I have a job interview tomorrow.
This it turning out to be quite a delightful week :)

Lust

It is a month until my birthday.
It is pretty much a month until my birthday.
Close to a month.
Sorta.
Okay okay, it's like a lot of days until my birthday
50 to be exact.
BUT I'm going to turn 20 years old!
Goodbye teens and hello twenties.
So, since my birthday is really far away so close, I think I can get myself an early birthday gift, right?
I mean, it's like a rite of passage when you turn 20.
I think I deserve a sophisticated gift that tells people "Hello there, I am an adult, not a teen. You can tell because I have this."
"This" being THIS:

This beautiful, marvelous, stunning little thing.
Which can be found here.
I am lusting.
Get on my wrist, please.
And stay a while. like forever.
If you want, you can get one and send it to me because you feel like donating to a good cause:

Olive's Bare Wrist Association  (OBWA)
"We will never let a wrist go bare again."

Did you know EVERY SINGLE Olivia Juliann Crabtree DOES NOT have this watch??
I thought it was a shocking statistic too.
Let's put a stop to this corruption and abomination.
Every donation helps, people.

Pocket full of sunshine

Here is what I have been missing the last few days....

What's not to miss?
The sun. The hot sand. Bikinis. Surf boards. Sandy towels. Flip flops. Frisbee. Did I mention the sun?
As much as I love Oregon
and I definitely missed it while I was in Cali
I am missing the beach and the weather down south.
It just makes me excited for summer.
It seems like everything good happens in those few months where the sun breaks through the evil evil cage of clouds that cause my pastey white skin.
I look like a bicycle reflector. Not in a good way.
I can't wait to lay out and get tan and actually be able to do things out-doors!
Plus it just puts me in an overall better mood when I get a glimpse of the sun every now and again
seasonal depression, anyone?
Because I gotta pocket gotta pocket full of sunshine
What??
I am getting delirious.

Besides summer, here are some other things I am excited for:

1. New car new car new car new car!
2. Another tattoo??
shhhhhhh ;)
3. Living in Portland
4. as an extension of #3, decorating my apartment
5. Getting a job. Finally.
6. Dinner with Grandpa and Mimi
7. Going to the Nike Employee store next weekend
8. Season 4 of Madmen. When does that come out????
9. Getting my package in the mail from my giveaway!
10. My new shoes that I bought on impulse. Oops.

What are you excited for?

Forgive me

But I am just sick.
yuck.
All I want to do is lay in bed and watch movies to my little heart's content.
I guess this is the only upside to not having a job.
Even now, as I stare at my computer
it looks like all the words are swimming around the screen.
I don't think words should be swimming.
So, that is all for now.
I am going to eat some lunch
Is it still lunch at 3:30?
and watch a movie.
Hopefully sleep will find me somewhere in there.
My bed and I wish you a wonderful day.

Nyquil is a girl's best friend.

Here is what the last two days have been like for me...

Nyquil.
Sleep.
Movies.
Repeat.
Sometimes they overlap.
Most times, actually.

I am a sick pear. Yes you heard me, sick pear.

P.S. this picture is from a million years ago and I look like a baby.

Even though I have spent my days in a nest of blankets and pillows that I created, I managed to get out of the house for a little salon action.
I got feathers in my hair.
I got feathers on my head, but don't call me a feather head.
Annnnnd I love it.
I have been wanting to put blond back in my hair (which I had for a long time) but since I am currently job hunting, I thought it wasn't the best idea.
So, I went for something less permanent yet still a lot of fun.

It is connected at the root with this little staple-like thing and it can be removed really easily.
BUT it lasts for 4 months!
ANNNND you can straighten it and curl it.

Also, I just have to show you Brock because he got a haircut and he looks like a little cutie
as usual.

Did I mention he is the best? Ever. EVER. He has seriously taken care of me since I've been sick. He is so understanding and doesn't even care that I am sooooo not cute at all. In fact, he keeps telling me how cute I am.
Did a running, red nose and raspy voice recently become cute? Not to mention I can't inhale through my nose so I'm a little mouth breather. Not cute, people.
So anyway, I'm a lucky girl.
Also, I have been online shopping a lot lately. It's a very dangerous thing, let me tell you.
I found this website called Ruche through this blog.
This is the bad thing about blogging. Every blog leads me to new websites where I spend money. Did I mention I don't have a job?
I want all of these things. And everything on the website.
Seriously, all of it.

I'm sick, so I can shop, right?

NewTwist

NewTwist.
If you have never heard of it, this might just be a great day for you.
Talk about an amazing store.
I have a few pieces of jewelry from here and I love each and every one of them.
The store has cases of jewelry divided by the specific designer. Each designer is unique in their own way, and everything is made out of only the best material.
Here are a few things I love:
Mother of Pearl Ring
Square Lapis Ring

Life Necklace
"Let your life become."

Silver Wishbone Necklace
Personal fav!

Fearless Slate Necklace

Paisley Elephant Necklace

WARNING: if you spend too much time looking at this website, you might drop a goof chunk of change.
But is that such a bad thing?
I never used to wear big rings but NewTwist has such great things that I can't help but love them.
These are the ones I have now. Both gifts from the wonderful  Jodi Auxier.

Go people, get yourselves some jewelry.

For an update on my job hunt, I applied to 90469857698374 places today. No exaggeration. Okay, maybe a little.
But it seemed like that many.
I hope I have a job or at least a few interviews by the end of this week.
Then maybe when I get an apartment this summer I will be able to afford furniture.
(yay).
