Showers and Cookies

Yesterday I went to my first Bridal Shower!

Well, first one being someone who invited me, not my family.
And it happens to be Becca, one of my greatest childhood friends.
I actually helped plan the games and set up.
There were some delicious cookies. D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.
It went great!

And we had fun....at the Bride's expense ;)

I am so honored to be a part of her wedding, which is in less than a month!
That never ceases to blow my mind.
I feel like she just told me she was engaged!
Here is a picture of us right before we graduated high school:

So much has happened since then!
I love her, and her soon-to-be husband, Jeff.
I couldn't be happier for them.
On a side note, it made me realize that I need to get married because Becca got a pretty good haul. I like presents, if you didn't know.

Happy Sunday :)

Camp Creek

Did you know it's summer?
It has actually looked a little like summer outside here in Oregon.
Of course, that may not last for long.
But it is a far cry from the summers that I used to have as a kid.

I revisited my youth the other day. And by that, I mean I visited my elementary school.
I grew up in a tiny, close-knit country community.
There were a total of 80 kids in my entire elementary school.
I feel like growing up in an environment where I got one-on-one attention and was surrounded by a community that was more like a family to me, all contributed to who I am today.
I visited because this year the school is closing down due to budget cuts.
:(
It is sad because I would want nothing less for my kids then to have an experience like I had when I was young.
It is so sad!
I kinda want to link arms around the school in protest.

Also, on a side note, one of my best friends from Camp Creek is getting married in exactly one month!
When did we grow up?
Now we all have jobs and responsibilities and boyfriends and apartments and cars and bills and fiances!
Sheesh.
I think we are still Camp Creekers at heart.

Coastal Adventures

How was your Friday?
Mine was awesome. No work!
Great day with my friend Genii
Not to be confused with the more common "Jenny"
We decided last minute to drive to the coast.
Because we could.

I have missed her waaay too much. Between me moving to California and her going to Oregon State, we definitely haven't seen enough of each other.

It was awesome to catch up and see the sun.
Do you see it? The sun? In Oregon?? Unheard of.

I'm thoroughly content with the day.
I even discovered peach redbulls from Dutch Bro's for the first time.
YUM.
Plus my belly is full of saltwater taffy.
Did I mention I'm trying to eat healthy? About that....
Not to mention I came home to a new Swamp People on my DVR.

Startin this weekend off right!

Counting down

In exactly 100 days.
I will be on my flight.
With my amazing boyfriend.
And most of my family.
Going to celebrate the amazing marriage of my aunt and uncle.
As well and romp around in the sun.
I'll be on my flight to MAUI!

I just bought my tickets today.
I'm beyond excited.
I don't know how Brock and I got so lucky that we will have gone to Maui twice together.

I think my head will be in the clouds for the next 100 days.
And I have a 41 hour workweek starting on Friday.
Semi-annual sale anyone?
Butttt.... everything is a little easier with something to look forward to
;)

An Excuse

As much as I hate that it's June and still raining,
As much as I despise being pasty white and still not wearing summer clothes,
And as much as I cringe every time I think about Oregon weather,
There is one benefit.

Rain all day gives me an excuse to spend the day cuddled up with my boy.
Wrapping up in a blanket.
Watching movies.
Laughing. A lot.
Chatting about everything under the sun.
And cuddles.
Oh, lots of cuddles.

So Oregon, don't say I wasn't ever grateful for anything.
