Mortifying Monday

Well HEY.

Did you miss me?

I missed you.

For that whole two days. I know, I'm dramatic. 

But really, I felt like I had a little bit of blog withdraws. 

Still, I somehow managed to have a lot of fun vacationing in Sunriver. Even though the snow melted most of the way by the end.

Here is just a glimpse at my weekend:

First of all, the house. is. gorgeous.

g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s.

 A beautiful view of a golf course which, in the winter, basically means a huge open space filled with snow. Then they have all these really expensive pieces of furniture and home decor that I would DIE for. This table, for instance, is custom made with matching chairs and it is too expensive for me to even look at.

 

We drove into Bend and shopped around at the Old Mill District. Then we ate at Deschutes Brewery, where I'm pretty sure I saw Dumbledore.

 

Bentley found a little cave that was his home for some of the trip. He is just precious. When he's not peeing everywhere. 

 

We played Scrabble.

 

I won.

 

Then it was back home we went. Really, an awesome trip. I'm so glad we got to go.

Talk about lucky, right?

 

I got a Jones during the beginning of the trip and the cap was a pretty good motto for the trip. And life.

So anyway, that was my weekend. I hope you got to do something fun, or maybe just relax a little. Tomorrow is the start of a short week, you can make it!

On another note, I have always been jealous of blogs that have a theme on a certain day of the week. People have so many good ideas, whether it is Recipe Tuesday or Fashion Friday, I really enjoy it.

So I thought I would start one of my own. Because I think I'm cool.

Mortifying Monday.

We can all agree that Mondays are the worst. The weekend is over. It's the start of another long week of school or work. And there is rarely anything to look forward to. 

SO. Mortifying Monday is where I will reflect on the last week/my life and list the embarrassing things that have happened. It's a way for me to start my week without taking myself or my life so seriously.

Mortifying Monday

Brock asking me if Parseltongue is a real thing, and being serious. When someone serves you at a restaurant and says, "Enjoy your food!" and you say, "Thanks, you too... uhhhh, wait....." Spelling things wrong in Scrabble. There's no taking it back now. When someone has you in their profile picture on facebook and pretend it's because they love you. You know it's not true, the fact is, they look really cute in the picture, and you look like roadkill. Walking around in new jeans with that long sticker still on them. Oops. Talking to someone you hardly know who has food on their face. How am I supposed to look you in the eye? When you have mismatched socks and go to someone's house who makes you take off your shoes. Dang it. Bathroom doors without locks. That's just looking for trouble. When someone is talking about a new fashion trend they can't stand, and secretly you wear it all the time. Then you live in constant fear of running into them while you're wearing it. When I fall off the bed, with people in the room, even though I'm in college. Buying pads and tampons and running into people you know. When you get your oil changed at Jiffy Lube and they ask you to turn on your right blinker, and you turn on your windshield wipers.

So, there is the first of hopefully many. I hope you have a great start to your week!

Doozie of a day

I have a list of great news! I don't know if it is as exciting to you as it is to me. If not, just pretend.

1. I am in Sunriver. It is snowy. And I am currently blogging by a nice cozy fire. The good life.

2. I have a belly full of tacos. We'll see how long that's a good thing...

3. I took a shower this morning that has more shower heads and nozzles then my whole house. It was amazing.

4. I beat Brock at War Yes, the card game for second graders

Last, but not least,

Seriously people, if you have never been to this blog you have to. Nicole has so many great posts and giveaways. Plus, she is just overwhelmingly cute. I think you will like it. It's called My Teacups in Peony.

I probably won't post again until Monday because I want to focus on vacationing.

Tire chains and snow shoes

 I can't wait to spend my weekend having this as my view:

 As of tomorrow I am off to Sunriver, Oregon. In case you didn't know, it happens to be the best vacation spot on Oregon. Summer or Winter. Brock's family is lucky to have a few hookups which lands us in a beautiful house right on the golf course. It is seriously the perfect place to run around in the snow. Not to mention it is right by Bend where there is a great mall and great restaurants. What more do you want, people?

 I am extra excited because I haven't seen the snow in over a year! 

I'll be honest, I don't like the cold. 

So naturally, snow is not my best friend.

I'm just a little baby.

BUT

 I looove being in vacation where it is snowing. I get just the taste of snow that I need.  

Then I get the heck out of there.

So I hope you all have a wonderful wonderful weekend. I'll have a lot to tell you about when I get back!

Vroom Vroom

Filling out the FAFSA and applying to schools is like this impossible mission with twists and turns where you are constantly realizing you don't have the weapons/tools you need. 

I don't like these kinda of missions.

I am efficient as I've said before and having to do something slowly and carefully or maybe even start over because you messed up or lost your info is horrible and painful for me.

BUT

it has to be done sometime.

Today was that horrible day. 

I feel like I am buried beneath a mound important paperwork and my brain is buzzing with numbers and requirements. I still don't know for sure if I did everything right. 

Oh well.

I have another project that I am working on, but this one is slightly more fun 

yet still just as stressful

The time has come for me to get a new car!

This is the car I have now.

His name is Kolby

 He has definitely been good to me. 

There have been a lot of good memories in this car

and some not so good....like how I have thrown up in here three times. Three times.

But still, it is sad to say goodbye.

But, I get a new one!

I am sorta at a loss for what I should get. I'll be honest, my dream car looks a little like this:

 Is that too much to ask for?

I think it would look really nice sitting in my driveway.

Don't you?

But, I'd love your help if you have any suggestions.

 I was flipping through Vogue today. 

Bad idea for someone on my budget

There are a few things I realized:

1.) I have no understanding about how fashion works or why designers make certain styles. None whatsoever.

2.) I want to wear some of the awesome styles.

3.) I can't wear any of the awesome styles.

      * I am 5'1" and I live in Oregon. Therefore no one would know the different between Armani and American Eagle.

4.) One of their outfits costs more than my whole closet. 

So anyway, I continue to dream.
It would just be awesome to strut around in these clothes, even if it was just for a day.

I guess I gotta marry rich if I'm going to get away with wearing things like this and afford them, but here is just a glance:

Since I am an Oregonian and I live in Eugene, I have to give a shout out to the Ducks.

They are playing in the BCS National Championship today, which is pretty amazing. As a side note, do not call the National Championship the "Natty," it's just embarrassing.

WTD

One of those days

The last two days involved little no sleep whatsoever.

I am in a bit of a daze. You know, the kind where you realize you have been staring at the wall for ten minutes. 

So, since I am in a state that makes for great daydreaming, 

I'll tell you all about my top 10 guilty pleasures.

In no particular order, of course:

1. Puzzles exclamation point exclamation point

I get sucked in.  To the point where I can actually tune out all the noise around me which usually involved the people trying to talk to me. I am working on one of some nice tropic place right now. And yes, I know I am an old lady.

 

2. Ghirardelli chocolate squares

220 calories. 24 grams of sugar. Need I say more? 

3. Sims

Look people, if you have never played it, you can't judge. I'm on my close to millionth generation, which all started with my original sim: Freegan Oprah. What did you say? You have the xbox 360 version that you want to send to me? How sweet of you :)

4. Scary movies

I like when my heart starts racing and I don't know what is going to happen next. I love laughing at myself when I am jumpy for the rest of the night. And I love squeezing Brock during the extra scary parts.

5. 1990s country music

Garth Brooks. Martina McBride. Kenny Chesney. Toby Keith. Tim McGraw. Faith Hill. Black Hawk. Jamie O'Neal. Jo Dee Messina. You know, back when artists had to be able to sing to be famous. You know who you are.

6. Energy drinks

I use to HATE energy drinks. I had never even tried them. I think I saw one too many guys in Monster shirts and beat up trucks reving their engines. Oh you thought I might be attracted to that? Zach Galifianakis is more attractive. Significantly.

7. Taco Bell

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I have a feeling that some of you are in the same boat. I have spent a good amount of time avoiding finding out how bad Taco Bell is for me. Don't you dare take that success away from me!

8. People Magazine.
There are no redeeming values in these pages of celebrities and gossip. I started out getting a copy every now and again to laugh at the articles and also to laugh at the people who get suckered into reading it every issue. Then I realize, oh my God, I'm that sucker.

9. Truly Madly Deeply -by Savage Garden

If you have never heard of it. Go listen to it here. Now. Seriously. If you have heard it, listen to it anyway. Try and tell me your day isn't better afterward. 

10. Mario Cart

Nintendo 64 all the way. I will mess up your whole run with my banana peel. And I won't even feel bad.

 

So, there you have it. A few things that brighten my day.

Redecorating

Your body is a temple, but how long can you live in the same house before you redecorate?

I like redecorating. A lot.
By redecorating, I mean adding a little ink.

It is no secret that I like tattoos. I know there are so many people out there who are against them, and honestly, I understand. They aren't the most logical or practical thing to do. But then again, my life is neither of those things.
It still stands that I love them. I think they add so much character to a person. Some are symbolic and some are dedications, while others are just beautiful. They are like art and story telling mixed into one masterpiece. Okay, wait. SOME are masterpieces. For anyone out there considering getting a tattoo, don't ever ever get one "fer cheap." Tattoos tend to cost a lot of money because they take a lot of fine work and skill. Not just anybody can tattoo, so just because someone has a tattoo machine sitting in their garage doesn't mean you should get one from them for half price. You know why it's half price?
It's not sanitary and they don't know what the heck they are doing.
So anyway, tattoos have the potential to be great and add something special to a person.

So I know Beyonce doesn't really have these tattoos, but she looks gorgeous with them!


I would never get a tattoo I couldn't cover up if I wanted to. I just can't commit to something that will be showing at all times no matter what age I am. So I think I'm at least a little smart, right?
But I do have one.
Here's a look at the tats Brock and I are sporting as of right now:


Brock is border-lining a half sleeve. And he's really cute, if you didn't know.
I love mine and I wanted it for a long time.
My problem is I'm kinda obsessed with symmetry so I can't just go get one that would throw my body off-kilter. I went with one down the spine because it is even. I don't think I could handle having a tattoo on one side of my body and not one on the other.
Yeah, I have a lot of strange strange strange things about me. See my OCED post if you don't believe me.
So I'm at a loss about where I could get my next tattoo on my body. I want to be able to hide it, but I don't want it to be trashy. AKA no tramp stamp or anything near the underwear line.
I have some ideas for the tattoo, but I have to have it in a place that I love or I'll never do it. Feel free to throw suggestions my way because I am stuck!

Oh, and as a last side note, my roommates are heading back to school in Cali today. Good luck this semester, I love you all. And if you are about to head back to school/in your first week, good for you for reading this instead of your textbook ;)
